Specialty Drying in Orinda home

This is a photo of what we call specialty drying in an Orinda, Ca home. The water supply line to the dishwasher broke and caused water damage to the hardwood floors which required special equipment called a desiccant dehumidifier tented to the floor using lay flat ducting connected to a plastic floor containment in order to completely dry the affected area. Soon this beautiful hardwood floor will look "Like it never even happened."

Water damage from upstairs toilet supply line

We are currently working on this beautiful home in Danville Ca. where the owners walked in to most of their home full of water from a toilet supply line in their upstairs bathroom that had burst. This is a photo of the damage on the first floor from the water coming through the ceiling and the walls from the upstairs bathroom. The water damage from this pipe reached throughout the house leaving all but 2 upstairs bedrooms untouched. SERVPRO of Walnut Creek will help make this home "Like it never even happened."

Pipe Leak in the wall

This is a photo of a pipe leak in the wall of a Concord home. Drywall, baseboards and carpet needed to be removed. About 10 sq. ft. of Mold was found in the carpet. Once the pipe is fixed our technicians cut out all damaged wet material, and dried the interior of the walls with our air movers and dehumidifiers.

Water Damage in Walnut Creek Ca

This water damage was the result of a roof leak in a Walnut Creek home. The dining room hardwood floors and plywood subfloors were affected. The homeowner gave us a call, we removed baseboards, the tile in front of the fireplace and the hardwood floor in the affected area. We then cleaned the area, set up our dehumidifiers and drying equipment for the next few days until the plywood was completely dry.

Hardwood Floor Rescue Mat

At SERVPRO of Walnut Creek/Clayton we try are absolute hardest to "restore" instead of "replace". When there is water damage to hardwood floors one method of drying we will use is our Rescue Mats.

The Rescue Mat System enables our technicians to dry hardwood floors fast. Utilizing the power of a high-pressure blower, the Rescue Mat vacuums water vapor right through the surface of the floor.

Moisture Meter

This is a photo of one of our moisture meters. This is an essential instrument we use to detect moisture content in materials.

Moisture meters are used to measure the percentage of water in a given substance. This information can be used to determine if the material is ready for use, unexpectedly wet or dry, or otherwise in need of further inspection. Wood and paper products are very sensitive to their moisture content.

The reading on this meter of 99.9 is stating that this specific material is completely saturated.

Finding the source

Finding the source of your water loss is the first step and the most important. This is a water line to a dishwasher that has been frayed and damaged flooding the inside of a home here in Walnut Creek.

Water damage before and after

When your property has been water damaged, you don’t have the luxury of waiting around for a convenient time to start the cleanup. Secondary, damage from mold growth can present serious health risks associated with mold in the living environment.

Mold spores are everywhere, but they need moisture and a nutrient source to grow. And that is exactly what your wet carpet or drywall offers.

Wall Cavity Drying

This is a picture of our Inject Dry in an office building drying out the walls throughout the commercial area. The Inject dry Hardwood Floor Drying System is the latest and greatest hardwood dryer in the industry. It's used to dry high-risk areas of moisture under hardwood, marble, and tile that regular dehumidifiers just can't quite reach. By exchanging the air in a targeted area with negative pressure, the air movement becomes a vehicle for moisture. When caught in time, this can keep your expensive hardwood and engineered hardwood from warping.
